Solution
Sustainability

NBR (Acrylonitrile-Butadiene Rubber) is a synthetic rubber that excels in resisting oil and abrasion. Zeon manufactures and sells various types of NBR from products with low to very high acrylonitrile content. We have a diverse portfolio of NBR products, including carboxylated grades and isoprene modified NBR, as well as products in powder, liquid, and other forms.
Zeon manufactures and sells NBR/PVC, which blends polyvinylchloride (PVC) with NBR. NBR/PVC features superior ozone resistance.
Zeon can supply an ISCC PLUS-certified NBR through the mass balance approach, as a sustainable product.

Characteristics

Oil and Fuel Resistance
Various types of NBR are available, ranging from low to very high acrylonitrile content. We also offer a selection of other products, suitable for the required level of resistance to low temperatures, oil, or fuel.
Abrasion Resistance
NBR is a synthetic rubber that excels in abrasion resistance. Carboxylated nitrile rubber, or XNBR, is especially resistant to abrasion.
Sustainable Product (ISCC PLUS-Certified)
Zeon can supply an ISCC PLUS-certified NBR through the mass balance approach by procuring  sustainable C4 fractions made from bio-naphtha to manufacture the synthetic rubber.

Typical Applications

  • Fuel and Oil Hoses
  • O-Rings for Fuel and Oil Systems, Seals, and Gaskets
